Keeping it close to home, Malagold's WavetTo The Flag (Baby Flag) took a ride just down the street and brought back the Reserve Winners Dog ribbon after winning the first place honors in the 9-12 Month Puppy Dog class. This was quite an honor for Baby Flag, as it was a large entry, constituing a 4 point major reserve win.

CH. Polar Mist War Admiral (Riker) - the token Malagold family Samoyed - has been spending a lot of time over the last few months just lounging around the house and watching television, so it was thought to send him out to a dog show to see if he remembered what it was all about. Evidently, he did not forget the routine, as he rode down to Crown Point, Indiana, to attend the Steel City Kennel Club dog show with his handler, Nancy Martin, and on Easter Sunday, April 16th, 2006, Riker earned the Best of Breed ribbon and went on to a Group Fourth placement in a highly competitive Working Group! And this was his first weekend out as a Special, since completing his Championship title in July of 2005. What an exciting day!

But - alas, Riker has come home from his journey, back to his favorite sofa and pillow, and is currently enjoying Animal Planet on the television. We think he might do this show thing sometime again, but we will have to check the TV schedule first!

Malagold's Lady Libery (Libby) took everything by storm - and took the Breed win, too! Libby won first place in the Open Bitch class and Winners Bitch for the point. But she was on a real hot streak and beat out the specials for the Best of Breed win, giving her Best of Winners as well for the two points! How about that for the little lady!!

At the same show, Malagold Cedar's Country Road (Denver) took the Reserve Winners Dog win, but certainly did not mind watching from the sidelines as Libby ran away with the ribbons!

These Malagold girls are truly something!

And the girls are not to be forgotten, as Malagold's Wine and Roses wins the Puppy 6-9 Month Bitch class and Malagold's Cricket Two takes home the first place prize from the Bred-By-Exhibitor Bitch class!!

This was the start of a very nice weekend for the Malagold puppies.

From the Puppy 6-9 Moth Dog class, Malagold's Stone Sour (Stoney) and Malagold's Wave to the Flag (Baby Flag) take the first and second place ribbons respectively. A nice win for the darling duo!

The girls, though, are also nicely represented, as Malagold's Cricket Two brings home the second place ribbon from the Bred-By-Exhibitor Bitch class.

Not a bad warm up for the weekend's competition!

This was a "puppy spectacular" weekend for Malagold!

Malagold's Wave to the Flag (Baby Flag) wins his Puppy Sweepstakes 6-9 Month class and goes on to win it all - earning the rosette for Best Puppy in Sweepstakes (pictured below). His first real dog show! And he wins big!

Not to be taken lightly, Malagold's Stone Sour (Stoney) earned the second place ribbon to Flag in the same sweepstakes class. But continuing on with the Regular Class competition, Stoney edged out Flag in the Puppy 6-9 Month Class, earning the win and the blue ribbon!

Malagold's Wine and Roses (Rosie) earns a fourth place ribbon in a big class of 6-9 month puppy bitches and Malagold's Cricket Two takes the fourth place prize in the very competitive Bred-By-Exibitor Bitch class as well.

This is how it is done - keeping the ribbons all in the family!

Kalamazoo Kennel Club Match
Kalamazoo, MI

On Sunday, February 5th, 2006, the Malagold Crew took the puppies over to the local fun match at the Kalamazoo Kennel Club. It was a clean sweep for the upcoming babies! OK - it was not just a Golden sweep, as Geri has a new Schipperke puppy - Malagold Funinthe Sun De Lamer ("Hotty") who, in her first competition at only four and a half months old, goes Best Puppy in Match, after earning the ribbons for Best Schipperke Puppy and a Non-Sporting Group First!

What an accomplishment for Geri and the newest addition to her family. Although, the Best in Match competition was not a "walk away" win for Hotty, as she had to complete with the Puppy Sporting Group winner - Malagold's Stone Sour ("Stoney"), Connie and Geri's seven month old Cheers and Mimi baby boy, who won his class and earned the Best Golden Retriever Puppy ribbon.

Watch out for these and other Malagold puppies to be in the show ring this summer!
